The purpose of this project is to open and sustain an inclusive, informed, and participatory space for contemplation, dialogue, and civic engagement on how to combat disinformation and information manipulation, which increasingly undermine democratic resilience and civic trust in Europe. The FAMA project directly addresses the complex interplay between digital disinformation, public discourse, and democratic participation by equipping citizens with critical media literacy tools and by enabling their active involvement in shaping responses to this phenomenon. This purpose will be served through the delivery of a series of interrelated events (as described in the \u201cDescription of the Project\u201d section).<\/p>

These events\u2014spanning educational, participatory, and policy-driven objectives\u2014will create spaces for citizens to interact with experts, academics, journalists, influencers, and decision-makers, to develop a deeper understanding of disinformation, and to engage with others in proposing informed and democratic responses to it. The activities will be organized across local, regional, national, transnational, and European levels, with a particular focus on face-to-face participation and accessibility through digital tools.<\/p>

Each event type serves a defined role within the logical framework of the project: Three (3) Seminars and three (3) Webinars raise awareness and build foundational knowledge; Eight (8) Conversations deepen understanding and provide direct access to expert views; Four (4) Workshops develop practical skills for specific target groups; Four (4) Citizens\u2019 Panels foster democratic engagement and feedback loops into policy; finally the Policy Reform Roundtable the Final Conference brings together outcomes for wider dissemination and influence.<\/p>

The inclusion of modules specifically addressing the gendered dynamics of disinformation\u2014including targeted smear campaigns against women and marginalized groups, algorithmic gender bias, and digital safety\u2014ensures the project is anchored in the real-world experiences of diverse populations and is aligned with both the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and the EU Gender Equality Strategy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The FAMA project concentrates on countries that face the greatest challenges in digital and media literacy.
